Working all day in front of a computer is not that
great for your health. Anybody who spends a lot of
time at a desk using a keyboard and mouse should be
aware of the potential medical problems (back and neck ache,
repetitive strain injuries, eye strain, etc) that can be caused
by this type of work and should be aware of the
preventive measures they can take to avoid such
problems.
HealthyComputing.com
This site offers sound advice on correct positioning of your
screen and your posture whilst working with a computer.
WorkRave
Amongst the various software programs available on the
internet which can help to avoid repetitive strain type
injuries, we recommend WorkRave. This freeware program,
with its interface in English, Dutch, Spanish, Polish,
Danish, German, French, Chinese and Russian, suggests
to you when it is time to take a break from your work.
Short and long pauses are programmed as well as stretching
exercises for your hands, neck and back.
