The eleventh edition of the Concise Oxford English Dictionary on CD-ROM (revised
11th edition), probably the best-known English monolingual dictionary in
existence, enables you to enter into the riches of the English language in a single click.
This vast monolingual dictionary contains over 240,000 words, phrases and definitions and
over 50,000 spoken pronunciations. It also incorporates hundreds of grammatical references
and rules relating to punctuation and usage.
The Concise Oxford English Dictionary on CD-ROM is fast and easy to consult; the integrated
search function is immediate and precise. If desired, the dictionary can be launched directly
from a web browser or other Windows application by simply double-clicking on a word. Several
options are available for customising the appearance of the software. For example, the user
can modify font sizes or configure the dictionary window to always stay in the foreground.
The software also proposes four interactive word games so that you can test your linguistic
knowledge. These games propose hours of fun and allow users to increase and enrich their active
knowledge of English vocabulary.
